Our Immanuel (Isaiah 8:8-14)
Isaiah 7:14 NKJV — “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.
He is Immanuel though problems arise
'He will pass through Judah, He will overflow and pass over, He will reach up to the neck; And the stretching out of his wings Will fill the breadth of Your land, O Immanuel.'
Isaiah 8:8
Psalm 91:7 NKJV — A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.
In spite of the power of the enemies
I Peter 5:8 NKJV
[8] Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.Â
In spite of presence of the enemiesÂ

In spite of pressure of the enemies
II Corinthians 4:8-9 NKJV
[8] We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; [9] persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed—Â
He is Immanuel to His people- you can say God is with us but are you really with Him?
Our enemies will be shattered
'“Be shattered, O you peoples, and be broken in pieces! Give ear, all you from far countries. Gird yourselves, but be broken in pieces; Gird yourselves, but be broken in pieces.'

He is the Immanuel to prostrate to
Isaiah 9:6 NKJV
[6] For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Do not live like the Gentiles

'The Lord of hosts, Him you shall hallow; Let Him be your fear, And let Him be your dread.'

Worldly fear
Matthew 6:31-32 NKJV

Godly fear
Is Immanuel your sanctuary or your stumbling block?
'He will be as a sanctuary, But a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense To both the houses of Israel, As a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.'
